Farmers' protest: SKM urges Centre to maintain smooth supply of fertilisers, tackle black marketing

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Sunday urged the centre to ensure the smooth supply of fertilisers in the country and control their price rise and black-marketing. The demands by SKM came after the death of 4 farmers who allegedly fell ill and died while waiting in the queue for purchasing fertilizers, or died by suicide due to not being able to get fertilisers for their crops.

India recorded 12,830 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 446 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday, the country saw a total of 14,667 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 98.20 per cent which is the highest since March 2020 and total recoveries data reached 3,36,55,842.
